There is no place I avoid playing. When I plan to tour my management looks for every reasonable opportunity and together we come up with the best possible plan. I don’t skip over countries or cities. I think it’s important to point out that my solo project is a very modest sized endeavor that many concert promoters take a risk bringing to town. Many of them did it on good faith out of respect for Incubus.
And many of them haven’t yet. I can’t blame them for that. My music doesn’t get played on the radio. My albums don’t get reviewed in magazines. The only people who find me are people like you, people who don’t need a magazine to tell them that there’s more music than what gets handed to them. And every single day of my life I’m thankful that even in a world transfixed on insta-sextape fame I can make jams in my crib and jump in the tour van.
I wanted to play in Paris fucking badly. Man, I lay in bed and dream about playing Madrid, Barcelona, Lisbon, Brussels, Vienna, Munich, Stockholm, Oslo, Prague, Moscow, Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Jakarta, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Caracas, Bogota, Buenos Aires, Rio, Sao Paulo, Lima, San Jose, San Juan, Miami, Atlanta, New Orleans, Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, El Paso, Chicago, Albuquerque, San Francisco, Seattle, Vancouver, Toronto, Reykjavik, Cairo, Accra, Capetown, Goa…. man I could go on forever. That is what I want. That is what I dream about. And this is what I am working towards. But at this moment it isn’t on the table.
A few years ago playing London wasn’t on the table either. And now I have a sold out gig at Barfly.
I just want ask you guys to be patient. I’m not making any money with this. I’m not sitting in a giant office sipping cognac with Yeezy throwing darts at a map. I’m emptying out my bank account for a dream. I’m sleeping in a van and eating at Denny’s and testing the patience of everyone who loves me so I can play for this music you, and most importantly for me.
Trust me, no one on this earth wants a “Ben Kenney” concert in Paris more than I do. Just give me a little more time to make it worthwhile for the promoters. And don’t stop tweeting and messaging me about it. It helps more than you can imagine.
This entire EP is incredible.

Leave On Your Makeup - EP
This is my new album “Leave On Your Makeup”. My beautiful mother painted this portrait of me for the cover. It’s out today on iTunes and will be on Google Play later this week. ♥

All of Ben’s music is available to download on his website. Go listen to that and then check out a show. You won’t regret it, I promise. :)
Good news! Ben will be doing some shows in the UK in September. Tickets go on sale tomorrow. To say the least, he’s pretty damn amazing live, so don’t miss out!
Ben Kenney - Wrong (Shuffle Outro)
Just one of the MANY highlights of last night’s show. Thanks to Arvid for capturing this.
I can also see myself in the beginning of the video.
It was absolutely amazing, thanks for asking! The band has so much energy and Ben is so charming and funny. He was constantly flirting with the crowd. That man is extremely talented. And the whole band just seemed really happy do be doing what they were doing. Such a great vibe.
They put on an amazing show. I really love his solo stuff so I can’t wait to see them perform again. Guys, if you haven’t seen him perform, the next time he’s in town you should totally check him out.
“Guys: keep singing. Ladies: …let’s leave.”

I can’t even begin to describe how wonderful last night was.
